Summary / Objective
The Specialty Parts Material Handler is responsible for supporting daily operations within the parts department by handling materials, preparing and packing orders, and providing flexible backup support across various department functions. This role ensures timely order fulfillment and smooth day‑to‑day operations.
Essential Functions- Read work orders, job tickets and picking tickets to prepare items for shipment.
- Prepare, package, and label orders according to company standards and customer requirements.
- Operate a tow motor to safely transport, receive, load/unload, and organize incoming materials and parts.
- Maintain clean and organized storage areas to ensure efficient part retrieval.
- Inspect parts for quality, accuracy, and damage before shipping.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and general department tasks.
- Provide backup support to other roles within the parts or production departments when workload or staffing requires.
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience in a parts department, warehouse, or material handling environment
- Basic computer skills
- Forklift experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions with safety awareness.
While performing the duties of this job in a warehouse setting, the employee will use a forklift and other packaging tools.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must stand 8-12 hours per day and is occasionally required to bend, squat, climb, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds.
Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full‑time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Daily or weekend overtime may be required.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.
TravelNo travel is expected for this position.
