Shipping & Receiving Clerk Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for coordinating the accurate receipt, inspection, documentation, storage, and shipment of materials and finished products. The ideal candidate has prior shipping and receiving experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Receive incoming materials, supplies, and equipment while verifying quantities and condition against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Prepare, package, label, and ship finished products and materials accurately and efficiently.
- Inspect shipments for discrepancies, damage, or shortages and communicate issues appropriately.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, inventory documentation, and related paperwork.
- Enter and update shipment and receiving information within company systems.
- Coordinate with production, purchasing, warehouse, and other departments to ensure materials and products are available when needed.
- Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers and delivery services.
- Ensure products are properly packaged and prepared for safe transportation.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain an organized shipping and receiving area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other warehouse, shipping, and receiving duties as needed.
- 3+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory or shipping software.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials as required by the position.
