The QAQC Manager is responsible for leading and managing all food safety and quality systems within the facility. This role owns SQF certification, audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance programs. The QAQC Manager provides hands on technical oversight while also leading documentation systems, certification management, corrective actions, and team training. This individual serves as the primary authority on food safety and quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage SQF policies, procedures, and documentation systems
  • Serve as primary contact for SQF and third party audits
  • Lead audit preparation, host auditors, and manage corrective action responses
  • Manage and maintain compliance for USDA Organic, Non GMO, FDA, CDPH, and other required certifications
  • Oversee CCP and CP programs and ensure ongoing compliance and verification
  • Conduct and supervise in process and finished product testing including moisture, sensory, and screen profile analysis
  • Monitor and verify sanitation programs and Master Sanitation Schedule compliance
  • Ensure all QA documentation is accurate, complete, and audit ready
  • Investigate quality deviations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Train production teams on food safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain calibration and verification programs for testing equipment
  • Assist with R & D validation and product commercialization support
  • Communicate food safety and quality matters to leadership and customers when required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field required or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 7 years experience in food manufacturing quality assurance
  • Direct experience managing SQF or other GFSI certification
  • Experience leading third party audits
  • Strong knowledge of Organic and Non GMO certification processes
  • Proven ability to manage documentation systems and regulatory compliance
  • Strong leadership, communication, and training skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally with production and operations teams
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate testing equipment and computers
  • Ability to distinguish colors and perform sensory evaluation
