Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is specialized professional environmental work performing & coordinating technical assignments, assuring compliance with state & local laws & codes by reviewing specifications, plans, or engineering reports, inspection facilities or performing other comparable field or office work. Duties require a thorough understanding of rules, laws, and techniques related to environmental health. This position works under the direction of an Environmental Supervisor II.

Performs principle functions of the Mobile Home Park program with the primary duties of reviewing, permitting, and inspecting in accordance with Chapter 64E-15, F.A.C. Investigates related complaints and sanitary nuisances and initiates enforcement actions when necessary. Participates in conferences, meetings, trainings, and hearings concerning these programs. Responds to requests for assistance and information, and acts as the program liaison with the public, other agencies, other health departments’ staff, environmental and related professionals, and local governing bodies within the county.

Assists the supervisor in assuring compliance with the technical and documentation standards for the program as set by law, policy, and rule.

Performs principle functions of the Well Delegation program with the primary duties being permitting, inspecting, related fieldwork, and dealing with the public and the various well and building contractors. Initiates and monitors compliance and enforcement actions of the Well Delegation Program which may results from inspections or investigations. Responds to requests for assistance and information, and acts as the program liaison with the public, other agencies, other health departments' staff, environmental and related professionals, and local governing bodies within the county.

Assists the supervisor in assuring compliance with the technical and documentation standards for the program as set law, policy, and rule. Initiates and follows through on enforcement issues.

Performs principle functions of the Limited Use Water program with the duties of reviewing, permitting, inspecting and collecting bacteriological and chemical water samples for analysis in accordance with Chapter 64E-8, F.A.C. Investigates related complaints and sanitary nuisances and initiates enforcement actions when necessary. Participates in conferences, meetings, trainings, and hearings concerning public water systems. Responds to requests for assistance and information, and acts as the program liaison with the public, other agencies, other health departments' staff, environmental and related professionals, and local governing bodies within the county.

Assists the supervisor in assuring compliance with the technical and documentation standards for the program as set law, policy, and rule.

Performs principle functions of the Public Swimming Pool program with the primary duties of reviewing, permitting, and inspecting in accordance with Chapter 64E-9, F.A.C. Investigates related complaints and initiates enforcement action when necessary. Participates in conferences, meetings, trainings, and hearings concerning the pool program. Responds to requests for assistance and information, and acts as the program liaison with the public, other agencies, other health departments’ staff, environmental and related professionals, and local governing bodies within the county.

Assists the supervisor in assuring compliance with the technical and documentation standards for the program as set by law, policy, and rule.

Performs principle functions of the Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal System (OSTDS) program with the duties of reviewing, permitting, and inspecting the design, repair or modification of private and commercial onsite sewage treatment and disposal systems in accordance with Chapter…
