Okeechobee Healthcare Facility is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Dietary Aides to join our Dietary Services team. Our Dietary Department plays an essential role in providing nutritious meals and exceptional service to our residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve meals according to physician-ordered diets and resident preferences.

  • Set up meal trays and assist with meal service.

  • Deliver meals to resident dining areas and rooms as assigned.

  • Assist with food preparation, portioning, and stocking supplies.

  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.

  • Clean and sanitize work areas, dining rooms, and kitchen equipment according to infection control and sanitation standards.

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention procedures.

  • Maintain accurate temperatures for food storage and meal service.

  • Provide courteous and respectful service to residents, families, and staff.

  • Assist with special events and holiday meals as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or Dietary Supervisor.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Previous dietary, food service, restaurant, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.

  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.

    * Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening in accordance with state regulations.
