Toronto biopharmaceutical / life science cGMP/GLP service and testing laboratory has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Lab Operations Manager (Biologics).

You will be overseeing operations of direct and indirect reports, 50 to 100 specialists, related to biological chemistry, cellular biology, chromatography, electrophoresis, and compendial.

Please note that this is NOT a basic R&D role.

• Responsible for all administrative, scientific, and technical operations and management.
• All operations, strategic, operational, scientific matters.
• Meeting quality, safety, regulatory standards.
• Leadership, mentoring, coaching.
• Providing internal and external stakeholders and clients with regulatory and technical help related to process and method development, validation, and technology transfer.
• Timeline and resource decisions.
• Responsible for investigations into analytical methods and processes, OOS/OOT, deviations, and change control.

• MS or PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field.
• Proven experience within biological chemistry, cellular biology, chromatography, electrophoresis, and/or compendial.
• 10 years post‑graduate experience with strong people and project management skills; able to lead 50 to 100 people.
• Background working within a regulated laboratory.
• Strong experience with research, method development, cGMP/GLP, design and validation.
• Expertise in analytical biochemistry applied to biopharmaceutical development.
• Capable of interacting with all levels of management, suppliers, and clients.
• Excellent time‑management, report‑writing skills and attention to detail.
• NOT a position for a microbiologist, QC specialist, analytical chemist without the biological side, or strictly academic scientist.
