About Us

We are a full-service EPC contractor specializing in substation and switchyard construction projects across the state of Florida. Our work includes both greenfield builds and brownfield upgrades, delivering high-quality infrastructure ranging from small substations up to 500kV systems.

Our crews travel from project to project, building critical power infrastructure from the ground up—once one substation is complete, we move on to the next.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Substation Technician / Substation Electrician with hands‑on experience in above‑grade substation construction. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in substation work who is looking to continue building their skills in the field.

You’ll be responsible for installing and assembling high‑voltage equipment while working as part of a crew to safely and efficiently complete project work.

This role is subject to a maximum home‑base‑to‑project distance due to safety and travel considerations. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting/rotation distance to Florida.

We do not offer relocation assistance—candidates must be willing to relocate to our operating area prior to starting if necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with installation and erection of substation steel structures and above‑grade components
  • Install high‑voltage equipment, including:
    • Circuit breakers (including SF6 breakers and basic gassing procedures)
    • Power transformers
    • Disconnect switches
    • Surge arresters
    • Insulators and bus systems
  • Perform switch gear installation across various manufacturers and configurations
  • Assist with protection & control equipment installation and wiring
  • Support commissioning, testing, and energization activities
  • Perform retrofit work, upgrades, and equipment changeouts
  • Read and interpret basic prints, one‑lines, and construction drawings
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safe job site
  • Work closely with foremen and senior technicians to complete daily tasks
Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience in substation construction or related electrical work
  • Basic knowledge of high‑voltage equipment installation
  • Familiarity with substation drawings and layouts
  • Exposure to switch gear installation is a plus
  • Willingness to travel throughout Florida for project assignments - must use your own vehicle but we do reimburse mileage and we pay Per Diem too.
  • Ability to work a 4x10 schedule with overtime as needed
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety

Preferred:

  • Experience with SF6 breakers
  • OSHA 10 or other safety certifications
  • Previous experience working on utility or industrial electrical projects
What We Offer
  • Competitive pay: $28–$38/hour + we pay mileage (to/from work site), we pay for your hotel accommodations, and we also pay Per Diem.
  • Consistent overtime opportunities
  • Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401k with company match, paid vacation, etc.)
  • Steady pipeline of travel‑based project work
  • Opportunity to develop skills and grow within the company
  • Hands‑on experience with large‑scale, high‑voltage infrastructure projects
Why Join Us?

You won’t be asked to go work all over the US. We will keep you in Florida. If you enjoy hands‑on electrical work and want to be part of building critical infrastructure, we’d like to hear from you.
