Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Saturday work as needed. The position is located at our landfill site in Okeechobee, FL, and may also include work at one of our recycling facilities that serve over 20 million customers across the USA.

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic III, you will service and repair heavy equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front‑end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars. Your work will support critical operations and be recognized for its impact.

• Repair and maintain heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance per the site checklist.
• Complete paperwork and administrative tasks such as work orders, card files, P.M. checklists, and oil samples.
• Service lighter equipment such as light plants, water pumps, welders, and other machinery.
• Follow site‑specific procedures and detailed job descriptions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 6 years of heavy‑equipment maintenance mechanic experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Physical ability to perform required tasks, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen and physical exam.
• Annual Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Audiogram, and Respirator Fit Test.

Requires frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing. Exposure to cuts, burns, toxic chemicals and other occupational risks is frequent. Job conditions include dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, heat and humidity, both inside garages and outdoors in inclement weather.
