Location: Remote/Virtual - Must Live and Work in Michigan
Purpose: This position helps administer programs and complete assignments in the Workforce/Access Section within Policy and Planning Bureau - Health Care Workforce Division of the Policy, Planning and Operational Support Administration of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). The position assists with the Michigan Opioid Treatment Access Loan Repayment Program (MIOTA) expansion. This position also manages the development, implementation, and daily operations of two new SUD workforce programs (internship and scholarship), prepares reports, promotes, and markets the program, manages contracts, and maintains positive/productive relationships with customers and partners, develops spending plans to assure proper allocation of program funds, and manages the participant selection and payment processes.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Support the work of the Workforce/Access Section.
- Work closely with the Office of the Chief Medical Executive - Michigan Opioids Task Force & Strategy.
- Assist with the Michigan Opioid Treatment Access Loan Repayment Program (MIOTA) expansion and daily operations of program.
- Manage the daily operations of the SUD Internship and SUD Scholarship programs.
- Work with program participants and employers to execute contracts for program participants.
- Award SUD workforce contracts and track program funds.
- Provide program promotion and marketing to program stakeholders.
- Maintain program selection criteria, application process and payment process.
- Assist with various MIOTA and SUD workforce programs activities like data input and analysis, creating reports, drafting correspondence, and developing presentations.
- Develop and recommend alternative strategies to address and resolve a variety of programmatic issues.
- Evaluates documents and/or applications for possible inclusion in programs; determines compatibility with the objects and priorities of the Workforce/Access Section.
- Conduct research and analysis, data collection and maintenance.
- Prepare various formal reports and/or briefings.
- Present information to internal and external groups.
- Always represent the best interests of MDHHS and MPHI.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field required.
Experience: No specific amount or type is required, however 2-3 years of experience in this field is preferred.
Important Skills and Characteristics- Ability to analyze, synthesize and evaluate a variety of data for use in program development and analysis.
- Ability to organize, evaluate and present information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to learn and utilize computer processes.
- Ability to work well with others on a team, work independently, and multi-task within tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of computer applications:
Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint;
Adobe Acrobat.
Work Environment and
Physical Requirements:
Position requires the use of a laptop. This position is occasionally required to transport a laptop, audiovisual equipment, and brochures. This position may require some very limited travel.
Responsibility for the Work of Others: No assigned responsibility.
Impact on Projects, Services and Operations: This position has a direct impact on the quality of services provided by MPHI to MDHHS. This position helps administer programs and complete assignments in the Workforce/Access Section. The position assists with the MIOTA LRP program and SUD workforce expansion.
