This position is employed through EDUStaff. All candidates will need to be onboarded and in good standing with EDUStaff to be eligible for this assignment.
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to support the kindergarten classroom at Hiawatha Elementary. The ideal candidate will assist the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. This part-time position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational journey of our students.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in student supervision and instructional support.
- Supervise and engage with students during classroom activities, recess, and lunch.
- Provide individualized support to students as needed, fostering their academic and social development.
- Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance.
- Prepare learning materials and assist with classroom setup.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support student needs.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in early childhood education is a plus.
- Previous experience working with young children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Basic understanding of child development principles.
- Ability to pass background checks as required by school policy.
