JOB TITLE:
Salt Company Ministry Lead (Full Time)
- Campus Outreach
- Lead and set the pace in evangelism on campus
- Tabling, Reach Week, EV Days
- Develop and adjust effective, metric tracking strategies for making our “front door” larger
- Booking rooms and spaces through MSU
- Lead and develop our Freshmen Team
- Establish regular rhythms to meet with freshmen team and be a key resource to them to help run freshman events
- Regularly meet with lost students and help them get plugged in
- Leadership Equipping
- Lead two weekly discipleship groups of student leaders
- Assist our Captains Trainings to help develop a stronger theological backbone for our student leaders
- Take a leading role in teaching Gospel 101 and other equipping opportunities
- Assist as needed in teaching at our monthly leader meetings
- Participate in leadership interviews and global teams selection
- Regularly meet with student leaders for shepherding, care, and development
- Preaching that moves people
- Preach at the Salt Company as assigned by the Salt Director
- Preach in a way that moves our students to actionable next steps
- Cast Vision for the ministry through your messages
- Be a humble learner and feedback receiver
Salt Company Ministry Leads are expected to raise and maintain $750 of monthly financial support; participate in required meetings and events with The Commons Church; model flexibility and adaptability with events that arise outside of the regular work schedule. Built into this position will be many opportunities to stretch your “ministry muscles” to better equip you for greater and greater works for the sake of the Kingdom.
SummaryIn a sentence, your responsibility is to love, disciple, and empower students (focusing on leaders and the lost) and work within the leadership/equipping team of Salt Company. All of these responsibilities will be undertaken while developing your gifts and abilities in order to mobilize you for long-term Christian ministry.
CharacterThe successful candidate will have a healthy, vibrant walk with God, will already be actively involved in a local church, and will be committed to being in authentic gospel community. Their lifestyle will be marked by servant leadership, generosity with their money, time and giftings, and love for spending time with the Lord. Has a growing desire to shepherd others in their relationship with the Lord and to raise up leaders.

The leadership competencies required: have a good knowledge of the word; a heart for reaching the lost on campus; ability to develop, equip, and disciple student leaders; ability to thrive working with a dynamic team in a fast-moving environment; ability to analyze potential problems and opportunities and implement strategic solutions; hard-working and teachable; proven effectiveness in a ministry setting; able to connect with a diverse group of students.
