Position Overview

We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Medi Lodge of Okemos. The role offers all shifts, with hourly wages ranging from $39.40 to $51.39, based on experience, shift, and incentive programs.

• Document residents’ conditions and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
• Assign nursing care to team members in accordance with resident needs and staff qualifications.
• Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff members and CNAs.
• Administer medications and perform treatments for assigned residents, documenting all care.
• Participate in orientation and in‑service training for personnel.
• Ensure supplies are used economically and equipment is clean and maintained safely.
• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinate nursing care when residents are scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Interview applicants and recommend hires; participate in counseling, disciplinary action and termination of staff, to the extent permitted by state practice act.
• Supervise nursing unit, including scheduling and directing the nursing staff, to the extent permitted by state practice act.
• Ensure inventory and supplies are maintained on the unit and communicate needs for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/LNV school of nursing.
• Valid LPN/LVN license in the state of employment.
• Valid CPR certification.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.

• Skilled in directing and motivating the workforce.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
• Effective communication with residents and their families, and at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
• Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Starting wages $39.40-$51.39 per hour.
• Wage calculation based on experience, shift, a $3.40/hr Michigan Direct Care Incentive, and a $5/hr weekend warrior program.
