What We Are Looking ForWe are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Retail Representative, who share our passion to provide quality products and excellent customer care experience to patients who need them and who support the JARS Cannabis core values and culture. The Retail Representative works closely and collaboratively with the store assistant leadership and reports to the General Manager. A Retail Representative is responsible for providing our customers with exceptional service by meeting individual needs, exceeding expectations, and demonstrating excellent knowledge of the variety of cannabis products, deals & promotions we offer.
This successful candidate will also undergo a mandatory training through our groundbreaking JARS University training. This training is done both virtually and in-person at our mock-store training facility to ensure that our staff is well-educated and trained on JARS' policies, procedures and company culture.
- Assess the needs of each customer, provide appropriate product knowledge, and conduct each transaction with accuracy and efficiency
- Use suggestive selling strategies and must be able and willing to upsell all customers
- Take constructive criticism and be coached by upper management
- Assist with inventory tasks when needed
- Work scheduled shifts and follow the company's attendance policy
- Follow all safety and CRA rules policies
- Promote the perks of being a JARS customer (Loyalty Program, Referrals, etc.)
- Record transactions accurately in the POS, use appropriate login, and ensure the accuracy of assigned cash drawer
- Perform opening and closing duties as needed
- Escalate customer issues to upper management when appropriate
- Maintain a positive, caring attitude, and treat both customer and co-workers with respect
- Maintain neatness, cleanliness, and organization of the sales floor
- Fill in when short-staffed and be willing to be cross-trained
- Follow and integrate JARS company policies and procedures with on-the-job interactions, tasks, and behaviors
- Listen and respond to customer and coworker needs/requests appropriately and timely
- Minimum 2 years of customer service experience working within in a retail, sales, and/or hospitality environment
- Acquired knowledge of cannabis strains and applications
- Cannabis industry and/or health industry experience highly desirable
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Use basic math skills
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required
- Requires prolonged standing and some bending, stooping, and stretching
- Ability to operate a computer, POS system, and other office equipment
- Moving up to 30 pounds on occasion
- Work will generally be performed in a fast-paced retail cannabis dispensary
- Involves frequent contact with patients and staff
- Will require working varied hours/day, including nights weekends, holidays, and/or events on occasion
