Donation Centers are open from 10:00am to 6pm Mon - Sat, and 12am to 5pm on Sunday.

- Greet and provide friendly service to donors and assist in transferring items to the ADC.
- Offer tax receipts
- Acknowledge additional donors while assisting others
- Sort and place donations in the appropriate containers.
- Remove clothing from bags and boxes.
- Remove any hangers from clothing.
- Rubber band and pair any shoes and boots
- Open and close the ADC as scheduled
- Secure the ADC whenever leaving at the end of the work shift.
- Ability to read and write in English in order to complete appropriate paperwork on a daily basis.
- Must be able to properly issue accurate, legible donor slips and maintain accurate records of donation activity.
- Notify the Transportation Supervisor of large furniture items or if an early pickup is needed.
- Assist the truck driver in transferring the donations from the ADC to the truck.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to transfer donated goods from the donor’s vehicle to the ADC and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Have the ability to carry, push, pull or otherwise move and organize merchandise on a regular basis.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
We are searching for someone dependable to join our team. As a donation attendant you will collect donations from the community that we sell in our retail stores to help people in that community and others in Central Michigan get work experience, job training, and other services.
Most donations centers have one or possibly two employees working at a time so attendance is crucial to the job. You will be working with the public so a positive attitude and friendliness are a must. We collect everything from furniture to clothing so you will be handling a wide variety of items every day, big and small, and need to be able to move the donations and sort them throughout a work day.
