The Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions, including financial reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. This role supports bank operations by assisting with accounting questions, procedures, and reporting while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established accounting standards and company policies.

- Prepare various monthly management and director's reports
- Prepare monthly journal entries
- Reconcile various general ledger accounts
- Review general ledger activity and prepare variance analysis
- Assist banks with budget preparations
- Assist banks with accounting issues, including questions, research, and procedures
- Assist in training new bank personnel on Banc First accounting procedures
- Write accounting procedures as needed
- Perform job duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with heavy emphasis on Excel; experience with macros preferred
- Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, banking software applications
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organizational skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining a positive attitude
- Strong critical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with demonstrated reliability, attendance, and punctuality
- Banking or accounting experience preferred
- Constant use of computer screens
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard and use hands and fingers for handling, reaching, and typing
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively
- Intermittent standing, stooping, bending, walking, kneeling, or crouching
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods during the workday
- Long periods of typing and repetitive motion
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 5 pounds
