Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our Oklahoma City office. This is an on-site position supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing upstream oil and gas company.

The Staff Accountant will assist with general ledger accounting, including preparing journal entries, reconciling bank and balance sheet accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. Responsibilities also include managing accounts payable activities, assisting with revenue processing and reconciliations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring transactions are properly coded and documented.

Additional duties include supporting internal reporting, preparing financial schedules, assisting with audit and lender requests, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. The role will work closely with the JIB & Revenue Manager and collaborate with operations and leadership teams to support accurate financial reporting and operational decision-making.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is looking to grow within an expanding organization.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in financial accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Experience with oil and gas accounting software (Quorum, Pak Energy, Enertia, or similar platforms preferred)
  • Familiarity with COPAS guidelines, JIB billing, and revenue statements
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
  • Prior experience in the energy or natural resources industry preferred
