Accounting Closeout Specialist

A client of Insight Global is seeking an experienced Accounting Closeout Specialist to support the final audit and closeout activities for a large federal grant program. This individual will play a critical role in reviewing invoices, validating supporting documentation, and ensuring compliance with federal grant requirements as the organization completes a significant funding initiative. This position will work closely with Accounting leadership and report primarily to the Finance team, with direct interaction with executive leadership throughout the engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Review batches of invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Verify financial records against federal grant requirements and internal policies
• Identify discrepancies, missing documentation, or audit concerns and escalate as needed
• Prepare documentation packages for secondary review and approval
• Assist with grant closeout activities and financial reconciliation efforts
• Support internal audit processes related to federal funding
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation for compliance purposes
• Collaborate with accounting and leadership teams to ensure timely completion of closeout milestones
• Ensure adherence to federal grant regulations and reporting standards
