Revenue Accounting Manager

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established energy and infrastructure organization with complex commercial operations and a strong focus on operational excellence, financial accuracy, and compliance. This position offers the opportunity to lead a revenue accounting function, partner with cross-functional teams, and drive process improvements within a highly regulated environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Analyze and interpret complex commercial contracts and agreements to ensure accurate and timely revenue settlements with customers, producers, shippers, and other counter parties.

* Review settlement calculations, adjustments, and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies and resolve revenue-related issues.

* Oversee and strengthen SOX controls related to revenue accounting processes, including developing and maintaining standardized procedures and documentation.

* Support the development of accounting staff through training, knowledge sharing, coaching, succession planning, and ongoing professional development.

* Partner with internal stakeholders to research and resolve complex accounting, settlement, and contractual issues.

* Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, providing account analysis, and explaining accounting processes and conclusions.

* Lead initiatives designed to improve revenue accounting processes, strengthen controls, increase efficiency, and enhance system automation.

* Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and implement best practices across the revenue accounting function.

* Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to team members while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, accountability, and customer service.

Requirements

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.

* Minimum of
** 8 years of progressive accounting experience**, preferably within energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, cost accounting, plant accounting, revenue accounting, or another complex operational environment.

* Minimum of
** 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience**.

* Experience reviewing, interpreting, processing, and maintaining contracts and contract-related financial information.

* Experience with revenue accounting, settlements, commercial agreements, or contract-based financial transactions strongly preferred.

* Experience working with ERP systems and financial accounting applications.

* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and reconcile large, complex data sets.
