Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is a control-critical role responsible for accounts receivable ownership, balance sheet integrity, and timely close execution across the Mid Central platform. This position partners closely with operations and applies sound accounting judgment while operating within centralized corporate accounting standards.

Essential Functions Platform Accounting & Close
  • Execute and support the monthly close for Mid Central and related entities
  • Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with corporate accounting policy
  • Own assigned balance sheet accounts, including full reconciliation, support, and issue resolution
  • Maintain close schedules and ensure timely completion of close deliverables
  • Partner with management and operations to resolve accounting issues and judgment items
Accounts Receivable & Working Capital
  • Own AR execution, billing support, and collections follow-up
  • Monitor AR aging and escalateg collection risks proactively
  • Work closely with sales and operations to resolve billing disputes and timing issues
  • Support working capital discipline through accurate cutoff and follow-up
Financial Integrity & Controls
  • Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and consistently
  • Support internal and external audit requests with complete documentation
  • Maintain strong cutoff discipline and accrual accuracy
  • Identify control gaps and recommend process improvements
Systems & Process
  • Support Net Suite transactional accuracy and reporting integrity
  • Maintain accounting schedules and supporting documentation
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives related to close, AR, and reporting
  • Cross-train with other accounting team members to ensure coverage and continuity
Non-Essential Functions

Knowledge
  • Policies, practices, and procedures of Mid Central Energy

  • Economic and accounting principles and practices, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data

  • Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Understanding of generally accepted auditing standards
  • Financial statement preparation and balance sheet reconciliation practices

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field
