Principal Secretary
Position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Principal(s). Essential duties include preparing correspondence, receiving and routing mail, handling maintenance requests, preparing Worker's Compensation documentation, managing timekeeping, maintaining the Principal's calendar, managing substitute teacher sign-ins, issuing classroom keys, distributing medications, answering phones, greeting visitors, making copies, and performing other clerical duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and one of the following: an associate's degree or higher, completion of at least two years of college study, passing the OGET test, passing the Education Testing Service Parapro Assessment Test with a score of 455, or passing the Workkeys Assessment with a score of 4 or better on all three parts.
Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment, and clerical techniques is required, along with excellent communication skills, working knowledge of AESOP and SAP, and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to edit documents, establish effective working relationships, follow instructions, and work independently is also necessary.
Physical/mental requirements include sitting and standing for extended periods, manual dexterity to enter data, ability to see and read computer screens and printed material, hear and understand speech, and physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, stoop, climb stairs, walk, and reach. Duties are performed in an office environment with moderate noise levels.
