Student Success Assistant

The Student Success Assistant will be responsible for answering calls and assisting students with SSA assignments and appointment scheduling.

Reports To:

Administrative Assistant - Student Success Advising

Minimum Education /

Experience:

Must be a current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester. or Current OCCC Student with a Federal Work Study Award

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Positive interpersonal skills. Effective written and oral communication skills. Demonstrate ability to complete tasks with attention to accuracy and detail. Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities. Punctual and reliable. Maintain a professional attitude and confidentiality regarding matters of students' personal and academic information. Exhibit appropriate professional behaviors to staff, students and others.

Working Conditions:

Sedentary work:
The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. This position requires the person to frequently move about the Records Office and the OCCC campus. This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, faculty, staff, administration, and others to perform the essential functions of the position.

Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations. This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position. This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position. This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of hands, wrists, and/or fingers.

This position requires the person to use upper and lower body to exert force up to 10 pounds to grasp or lift materials or equipment. This position requires the person to frequently position self to grasp, move, or lift materials or equipment. This position requires the person to frequently position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.

This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations. This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful completion of college course work preferred. Previous customer service experience preferred.

Work Hours:

To be arranged. Will be expected to work as needed up to 25 hours per week during the following hours. Monday
- Thursday 8:00am-6:00pm Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Additional evening and Saturday hours required during peak enrollment periods.
