Our summer starting rate is $12.00 per hour with the potential to receive more based on responsibilities.
Position DescriptionAssist with supervising a safe and well‑organized childcare program by planning and participating in group activities with children at a designated day camp site. This is a very high‑energy program requiring positive interaction with the children continually throughout the day.

Duties and Responsibilities- Attend all scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
- Establish a positive relationship with each child.
- Develop positive relationships with parents and staff.
- Develop weekly activities for a group of 12 children.
- Ensure the safety and well‑being of all children, including applying sunscreen and staying hydrated.
- Know where all group members are at all times.
- Lead games and activities.
- Maintain the appearance of camp through cleanliness and set‑up.
- Take daily attendance and ensure each child is signed in and out by a responsible party.
- Actively engage children and participants in activities.
- Prepare and distribute USDA and HEPA‑approved snacks and/or meals to participants.
- Perform daily count of meals and snacks served.
- Report all injuries and incidents to the Director or Coordinator.
- Display YMCA character values (honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility) at all times.
- Swim at least twice per week.
- Must have an interest in and love children.
- Must exemplify and support the philosophy of the YMCA.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have current CPR certification, First Aid, AED, and CO2 certification (training provided by the Y if needed).
- Must complete Red Woods Online Training within 30 days of hire date.
Starting at $12.00 per hour.
