Hasen is hiring a Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on commercial and multi-family projects. This role manages site logistics, subcontractor coordination, safety, quality, and schedule performance—ensuring work is built per the plans, on time, and to Hasen standards.

Key Responsibilities

Permits & Inspections

  • Track required permits and confirm they are obtained.
  • Coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and ensure inspections are scheduled, completed, and documented.

Site Access & Security

  • Open/close the jobsite and maintain controlled access (keyed locks/gates).
  • Ensure a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent is onsite when work is occurring.

Site Cleanliness

  • Maintain overall jobsite housekeeping standards.
  • Enforce subcontractor cleanup requirements; coordinate temp labor and back-charges when needed.

Safety (OSHA Compliance)

  • Enforce site safety rules and address unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Lead weekly safety/toolbox talks and collect required signatures.
  • Collect subcontractor pre-task plans.
  • Maintain and restock the jobsite first-aid kit.

Quality Control (Zero Defects)

  • Maintain the Rolling Punch List in Procore and drive timely corrections.
  • Identify defective/noncompliant work early and manage punch sequencing efficiently.
  • Communicate punch items to subcontractors, vendors, and the project team.

Plans, Specs, RFIs, and Submittals

  • Ensure work conforms to plans, specifications, RFIs, and approved submittals.
  • Review drawings proactively and identify constructability issues and RFIs early.
  • Enforce means and methods appropriate to the scope.
  • No material substitutions without written PM approval.

Schedule Management

  • Own schedule adherence in the field.
  • Update schedule progress with actual dates and percent complete.
  • Create and distribute a 6-week look-ahead schedule weekly.

Delay & Recovery

  • Identify delays early, determine cause/type (Owner, subcontractor, procurement, etc.), and notify the project team.
  • Develop and execute written recovery plans (weekend work, resequencing, parallel activities, acceleration, trade stacking when appropriate).

Subcontractor Management

  • Direct subcontractors to meet schedule durations and installation requirements.
  • Coordinate sequencing and trade flow.
  • Verify work quality, code compliance, and conformance; document and correct deficiencies.

Meetings & Communication

  • Lead weekly subcontractor meetings and drive collaboration.
  • Review the 6-week look-ahead, dates, and durations; resolve conflicts.

Pay App Review

  • Review subcontractor pay applications and vendor invoices for field progress validation.

Daily Documentation (Procore)

  • Complete daily logs in Procore (labor, areas worked, visitors, deliveries).
  • Document inspections, delays, near misses, accidents, and safety violations (including how they were communicated).
  • Upload daily photo documentation.

Subcontractor Onboarding

  • Conduct preconstruction/onboarding meetings for new trades and set expectations.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of superintendent/field leadership experience in commercial and/or multifamily construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Construction Management, Building Construction, Civil/Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or related).
  • Proficient with MS Office;
    Procore experience preferred;
    Primavera P6 a plus.
  • Flexible schedule as project needs require.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
  • Professional appearance and strong communication with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to pass background check, MVR, and drug screen.
Physical Requirements

Frequent walking and climbing stairs; ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs occasionally (25 lbs frequently). Regular phone use and clear professional communication required.
