Asphalt Laborer

Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company - is seeking a Asphalt Laborer to perform a wide range of duties depending that may change depending on the type of project they are working on and the team members they are working with.
Responsibilities
- Rake/Shovel asphalt in construction area
- Assist in patching asphalt with hot/cold mix
- Maintain a clean job site: pick up tools and equipment and secure jobs site each day
- Material Handling and storage
- May operate a variety of hand and power tools
- May assist with craft workers
Some skills necessary to perform all the different tasks associated with this job:
- Equipment such as - bobcat, front end loader, paver, tractor and screed
- Detailed oriented and team spirit
- Measure work area accurately
- Physical ability to stand long periods of time
- Physical ability to bend and crouch
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas
- Must be adaptable to changes in work environment; frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
- Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time:
Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent - Must be able to work nights and weekends when necessary
