Job Overview

Wayne Contracting Co. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from concept to completion. This role is ideal for a driven construction professional who values autonomy, accountability, and collaboration. You will manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while helping refine systems that support our continued growth - including expansion into federal projects under 8(a) and Disabled Veteran status.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and cost controls to ensure successful delivery.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Implement scalable systems and processes as the company expands.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, architects, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality, safety, and progress benchmarks are met.
  • Identify and proactively resolve project challenges.
  • Mentor and support team members as the organization grows.
  • Assist in expansion into federal projects, ensuring compliance and documentation standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience managing multiple commercial projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Experience with private commercial projects; federal project experience is a plus.
  • Ability to lead with confidence while maintaining a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office.
