Job Summary
The Superintendent holds the responsibility of overseeing daily site construction activities and managing all necessary field personnel to ensure the successful completion of the project within the designated schedule and budget. This encompasses upholding the highest quality standards, supervising trade and field personnel, and implementing effective construction safety practices throughout all on-site activities. The individual holding this position is required to report to a project site five days a week and is expected to live within proximity of the project location or surrounding areas.

- Plan, coordinate, direct and supervise all aspects of the day-to-day field operations.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with all project team members to maintain project schedule, safety, budget and quality control efforts.
- Plan and organize project work to assure all work is in place in accordance with contract documents.
- Have working knowledge of owner contract, subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Conduct on-site meetings with subcontractors, owners and tradesmen.
- Schedule and monitor field productivity.
- Provide mentorship and training to project team.
- Supervise project start up, project completion, and entire close-out process.
- Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal logs.
- Manage and oversee all contractual issues.
- Establish and maintain customer relationships.
- Accurate forecasting of costs for job completion.
- Ensure timely and safe completion of project, while adhering to contract documents and project budgets.
- Coordinate with Safety Manager to ensure projects are completed in accordance with safety goals.
- 10-20 years of experience with a general contracting company.
- OSHA 30 certification (required within 5 years).
- Experience managing $20M+ construction projects.
- Experience with federal and healthcare projects (preferred/required as applicable).
- Strong understanding of construction materials, means, methods, and building systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and execute work from drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and manage construction activities in alignment with project requirements.
- Experience developing and managing project schedules, including 3-week look-aheads.
- Proficiency in Procore (or similar construction management software).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Adobe.
- Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Ability to manage subcontractors, including understanding scope, enforcing contracts, and holding teams accountable.
- Experience leading jobsite and owner meetings and communicating effectively with all stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and resolve jobsite challenges and constraints.
- Experience with hard-bid projects and subcontractor contract management.
- Familiarity with Davis-Bacon / prevailing wage or union projects.
- Ability to maintain daily reports, including site progress and photo documentation.
- Willingness to travel nationwide as project needs require.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts (including nights/weekends), especially on healthcare projects.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Interest in long-term growth, with a desire to be mentored and developed within the company.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or an Engineering discipline.
- Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Knowledge or familiarity with EM 385 and CQMC.
- Experience managing projects $20MM+.
