We are working with a growing commercial construction group in the Oklahoma City market that is looking to add a Superintendent to their team. This is a hands-on role that connects the plans to the work in the field and plays a key part in keeping projects accurate and on track.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop project schedules and budgets, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Thoroughly familiarize oneself with project plans, specifications, contracts, and all relevant documents.
- Select appropriate methods and acquire necessary equipment for project execution.
- Enforce company safety policies, organizing safety meetings, and ensuring compliance among employees and supervisors.
- Manage workforce by hiring or terminating workers as necessary to maintain safety, efficiency, and timeliness.
- Ensure accurate completion of all documentation, including safety reports, payroll, and labor unit reports.
- Conduct meetings with subordinates, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to communicate, coordinate, and direct work effectively.
- Approve or reject invoices and expenses, verifying coding accuracy on all financial documents.
- Provide guidance to supervisors on job direction and company policies.
- Inspect work performed by employees and subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract requirements and maintain high-quality standards.
- Ensure jobsite compliance with all federally mandated equal employment opportunity policies and non-discriminatory laws and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction supervision, with a proven track record of successfully managing commercial construction projects.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage onsite teams and communicate with project stakeholders.
- Thorough understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools, such as Procore or Microsoft Project.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours as needed.
