Rough Carpenter
The Sherwood Companies have a proven track record of completing a variety of projects from General Construction to Construction Management and Design Build Projects for both public and private owners. A brief summary of the types of projects include urban expressways, bridges, underground utilities, dam construction, asphalt/concrete paving and water/wastewater treatment plants.
The incumbent will be responsible for designing, installing and repairing rough wooden structures, including: scaffolds, guardrail, concrete forms, sewer supports and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel. The incumbent will need to operate in a safe and efficient manner following all personal protective equipment (PPE) and process requirements. Travel may be required. This role is classified as safety sensitive.

Activities/Tasks/Scope include:
Keeping work area clean, orderly and safe, Studying specifications in blueprints, sketches or plans to prepare the layout of the project, Estimating height, width, length and other proportions, Selecting materials, Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements using chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and/or erect structures, Joining materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives, Working on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings, Checking work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications, Using levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure, Creating structures for pouring concrete, Building concrete forms for tunnel or sewer construction project, Erecting scaffolding, Building guardrail, Other duties as assigned.

Education/
Experience:
High School or Degree or GED required, 2-3 years of experience in heavy construction carpentry experience preferred.

Physical Demands include:
