POSITION DESIGNATION

This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is located in the MAPS Section of the City Manager's Office within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction of an immediate supervisor. Construction Project Manager is a full proficiency, para-professional classification responsible for the administration and/or supervision of MAPS Capital Improvement Projects. Specialized work areas include water, storm sewer, paving, building, or sanitary sewer construction.

Essential job functions include: reviewing or coordinating plans, specifications, and construction for projects prepared by the City within an assigned functional area both in house and at field locations; reviewing plans prepared by consultants that may impact the area; preparing various documents and reports; determining and monitoring funding allocations; and distributing required information to coordinate and facilitate construction. Construction Project Managers may supervise technical staff, with work products subject to review by a Civil Engineer or other immediate supervisor.
