The Senior Superintendent is responsible for field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve safe, timely, and profitable completion of each project. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills, as well as strong communication and client service skills.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Implementation of Operation Zero and all Manhattan safety policies.
- Participate and execute roles to help create an Injury‑Free Environment through own actions and mentoring of others.
- Direct day‑to‑day on‑site supervision of field labor force.
- Review and approve Trade Contractor Pay Applications and material invoices with the Project Manager.
- Develop and maintain site logistics plan in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Manage quality program.
- Coordinate site testing and inspection reports.
- Monitor costs, including labor time and material.
- Manage self‑perform features of work.
- Manage the CPM schedule and look ahead schedules.
- Development/coordinate/execute Safety, Hazcom, SWPPP, QA/QC plan, etc.
- Attend and lead portions of, if not all of, project meetings, including but not limited to preconstruction, preinstallation, subcontractor, owner, and safety in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Create daily reports and report quantities.
- Assist with the Preconstruction/Estimating phase of the project.
- Mobilize the site and set up utilities.
- Ensure necessary permits are secured, and inspections occur.
- Review and verify RFIs.
- Review and approve submittals for processing.

- A Senior Superintendent can lead teams with varying levels of experience while developing team members through training and mentoring.
- Bachelor’s Degree‑ Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent. May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one‑to‑one basis.
- 15 years of industry experience.
- Experience in large projects, specifically arena or stadium projects.
- You must be adaptable to all types of weather conditions and traverse and inspect all areas of a construction job site, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
- Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.
- Ability to repeat the same movements.
- Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.
