QUAD Construction is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Estimator to analyze project costs and prepare accurate, competitive estimates. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with numbers, possess strong analytical skills, and be able to coordinate multiple projects and priorities effectively. This role will also be responsible for managing and tracking the estimating process from initial review through completion, ensuring a smooth and organized hand-off to the project management team.
Core Responsibilities:- Help review project specifications, drawings, and scope documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Learn to develop complete project takeoffs for materials, labor and equipmen.t
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers and field supervisors to validate assumptions and clarify scope.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes for materials and services.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options during estimating process.
- Help prepare bid packages, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation for client submission.
- Participate in prebid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as needed.
- Support post-award handoff to operations and assist with change order pricing or revisions as needed.
- Build and maintain healthy relationships with subcontractors, clients, architects, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in a construction related discipline is desired.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years’ experience in the construction industry performing responsibilities equivalent to those listed above.
- Working knowledge and comprehension of construction drawings, documents, and specifications, as well as construction management.
- Proficient in Microsoft office and Bluebeam.
- Knowledge of Timberline Estimating.
- Understanding of research methodology, data analysis and estimation metrics.
- Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts.
- Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize work assignments.
