BASIC FUNCTION

The Marketing Specialist - Graphic Design is responsible for creating compelling visual content that supports WEOKIE Federal Credit Union's overall marketing strategy and brand identity. This position focuses heavily on graphic design, visual branding, print and digital materials, and creative asset development to ensure consistent, professional, and engaging visual communication with members. Assists Director of Marketing in developing and executing visual elements for the annual product promotion calendar, marketing campaigns, and brand initiatives.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES

  • Design and produce visual marketing materials including brochures, flyers, posters, banners, digital ads, and in-branch collateral that align with WEOKIE's brand guidelines and credit union goals. Create both print-ready and web-optimized graphics for various marketing channels.
  • Develop brand-consistent graphics for social media platforms, email campaigns, website content, and digital marketing initiatives. Collaborate with content creators to ensure visual elements complement written messaging.
  • Create presentation materials and infographics for internal training, member education, and executive reporting. Transform complex financial information into clear, visually appealing graphics.
  • Maintain and enhance WEOKIE's visual brand standards, ensuring consistency across all marketing touchpoints. Update and refine brand guidelines as needed to support evolving marketing strategies.
  • Support the Marketing Department with photo editing, image sourcing, and digital asset management. Organize and maintain design file libraries for efficient workflow and brand consistency.
  • Stay current on design trends, software updates, and visual marketing best practices relevant to financial services and credit union marketing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, i.e. reporting, budgeting, etc. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated.
  • CRITICAL RESULTS

  • Deliver high-quality, brand-compliant visual designs with minimal errors according to established marketing department standards and within budget.
  • Support achievement of planned market share, assets, loans, and other product/service objectives through effective visual communication.
  • Provide creative design solutions that enhance marketing team effectiveness in planning and implementing promotional campaigns.
  • Maintain consistent brand visual identity while ensuring compliance with credit union and regulatory standards.
  • Successful contribution to meeting WFCU's growth objectives through compelling visual marketing materials.
  • Communicate effectively with management in a timely and appropriate manner, submitting required design deliverables by established deadlines.
  • Provide informed, professional, and accurate design services to both internal staff and marketing initiatives while maintaining a positive image for WFCU.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills:
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required in either graphic design, visual communications, marketing, or related field and/or minimum of 1 to 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong organizational skills (planning and prioritizing) and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) are critical
  • Handson experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft products, and Asana Project Management Platform. Experience with Hub Spot programing also preferred.
  • Must be detail-oriented, with an ability to work independently, under pressure, and within moving deadlines while maintaining design quality standards.
  • Ability to blend technical design skills with creative problem-solving from a business point of view to provide seamless support of department initiatives.
