AI Tools
You should already be comfortable experimenting and creating with AI.
Our workflow may include tools such as:
- ChatGPT
- Claude
- Canva AI
- Gemini / Nano Banana
- Adobe's AI capabilities
- Envato / AI-powered creative assets
- Other emerging generative creative tools
You do NOT need to have prior experience with every tool listed above.
Specific AI platforms are not mandatory.
What IS important is that you are comfortable with AI-led creative workflows, prompting, experimentation and learning new tools quickly.
We don't want someone who needs convincing to use AI.
We want someone who naturally asks:
"How can I use AI to create this better or faster?"
Strong Manual Design Skills Are Still EssentialWhile our workflow is AI-first, you must be a strong graphic designer independently of AI.
You should be able to identify and manually correct issues AI cannot solve effectively.
Strong working proficiency expected in- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator Adobe Creative Suite
- Canva / Canva Pro
Figma knowledge is an advantage.
Basic familiarity with motion/video tools such as After Effects or Premiere Pro is an added advantage, but not mandatory.
Your Design Fundamentals Need to Be StrongAI proficiency cannot compensate for weak visual judgement.
You should have a strong understanding of:
- Typography
- Visual hierarchy
- Composition
- Layout
- Colour
- Contrast
- Spacing
- Alignment
- Image selection
- Image manipulation
- Branding
- Visual storytelling
You should be able to look at an AI-generated creative and immediately recognise:
What's working? What's wrong? What needs to change?
That judgement is extremely important to us.
Performance Marketing ThinkingYou don't need to be a media buyer.
But you do need to understand why your creative exists. You'll work closely with our Performance Marketing, Copy and Client Success teams and should gradually understand metrics such as:
CTR | CPC | CPL | CVR | CAC | ROAS
You’ll be expected to:
- Create multiple creative concepts and variations for testing
- Experiment with different hooks, layouts, visual approaches and CTAs
- Understand creative fatigue
- Learn from winning and losing creatives
- Use campaign feedback to improve subsequent iterations
- Understand the difference between a creative that gets attention and one that actually drives action
We're looking for someone who is curious about why one ad wins and another doesn't.
Creative ThinkingWe don't want an execution-only designer.
You should be able to:
- Understand a brief before starting execution
- Translate copy into a compelling visual idea
- Think of multiple visual directions
- Use AI to rapidly explore those directions
- Research competitors and advertising trends
- Question a weak visual approach and suggest a stronger one
- Adapt your style across different clients and industries
- Avoid making every client's creative look the same
- Bring ideas to the table rather than waiting for pixel-by-pixel instructions
We’re an agency.
That means multiple clients, multiple campaigns, iterations and deadlines.
AI allows us to operate faster and we expect our designers to take advantage of that.
You should be comfortable:
Handling multiple brands simultaneously
- Switching between different visual identities
- Producing multiple creative directions efficiently
- Iterating quickly
- Responding to performance feedback
- Incorporating client/team feedback
- Maintaining organised source files
- Delivering on deadlines consistently
Speed is important. Quality is non-negotiable.
