Position Summary
We are looking for experienced aviation professionals to join the SAIC Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team, supporting Air Traffic Controller Training services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), serving in the position of Casual, Air Traffic Basics Instructor‑I, onsite at the FAA Academy, in Oklahoma City, OK.
This hands‑on position requires the candidate to effectively and consistently deliver the highest quality classroom instruction to a wide variety of developmental air traffic control students. Responsibilities include conducting and administering Course 50043, Air Traffic Basics (Terminal);
Course 50143, Air Traffic Basics (En Route); and/or Course , Air Traffic Basics TRACON, as well as participating in Human Performance for ATC (HPATC) or other courses, and contributing to ISD projects for development, revision, and maintenance of ATC Training Courses.
Aviation professionals, former U.S. civilian and/or U.S. military air traffic controllers, and FERS retirees are encouraged to apply.

Earnings received as an ATC Instructor, ATC Training Instructional Supervisor, or Contractor Site Supervisor working on this program are EXEMPT from the Supplemental Annuity earnings limits for FERS retirees between the ages of 56 and 62.

Schedule: Casual (includes On Call and Temporary)

Clearance: Public Trust (must be able to obtain and maintain)
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- At least 3 years of experience as a certified flight instructor, OR
- Instrument‑rated pilot with at least 3 years of experience as an instructor in an equivalent position, OR
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a facility‑certified Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) in a U.S. civilian or military ATC facility plus at least 3 years of experience as an instructor in an equivalent position
- Direct experience as a certified ATC Instructor at the FAA Academy preferred but not required
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with FAA personnel at all levels and ensure training services meet the needs of the local facility and FAA’s overall mission
- Experience delivering excellent teaching and/or platform skills, classroom management techniques, and a student‑focused drive for continuous improvement, strongly preferred but not required
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
