About Santa Fe South & Penn Elementary
Santa Fe South Charter Schools (SFS) is a free public charter school district serving the south side of Oklahoma City. Our mission is to equip every student with the academic skills, content knowledge, and character required for college, career, and life. Across our campuses, we are committed to rigorous instruction, strong relationships, and a culture of continuous growth for both students and staff.
Penn Elementary holds a special place in the SFS story. Opened in 2009 in a former YMCA building, Penn was our first elementary school and has remained a cornerstone of the southside community ever since. Under the leadership of founding principal Kimberly Figueroa, who continues to lead the school today, Penn has built a reputation for stability, pride, and deep relationships.
Many of our current students are children of former Penn students, and families often describe the campus as close-knit, welcoming, and rooted in tradition.
Teachers at Penn join a team that values collaboration, high expectations, and a shared commitment to doing whatever it takes for kids.
