Positive Tomorrows is seeking a dedicated Title I Reading Teacher to join our team and support students in building strong literacy skills. This position offers the opportunity to work with children in small groups or one-on-one, providing targeted interventions that help each student grow in confidence and ability.
The tutor will work up to 20 hours per week, maintaining a low student-to-teacher ratiothat allows for individualized instruction and meaningful student relationships. Candidates with experience in the science of reading, dyslexia interventions, or structured literacy approaches are especially encouraged to apply. A LETRS certification or equivalent training is preferred.
We are looking for someone who is not only skilled in literacy instruction but also passionate about encouraging a love of learning and supporting children who are overcoming barriers to education.
The Classroom Assistant Floater/PE Teacher provides vital support to teachers and other staff in the
provision of services to students at Positive Tomorrows. The Floater/PE Teacher assists the education
staff by providing an educational atmosphere where students experiencing homelessness have the
opportunity for academic, socio-emotional, and physical growth. Under the lead and guidance of the
Director of Education and Education Programs Manager, the Floater is responsible for providing
educational support for each child and will step into the teacher or Classroom Assistant role, as needed.
The Floater/PE Teacher is responsible for designing and implementing a physical education curriculum,
instructing students in physical activities, and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
The Classroom Assistant (CA) provides vital support to teachers and other staff in the provision of services to students at Positive Tomorrows. The CA assists the teacher in providing an educational atmosphere where students experiencing homelessness have the opportunity for academic, social/emotional, and physical growth. Under the lead and guidance of the teacher, the CA is responsible to provide a well-rounded classroom experience for each child and will step into the teacher role from time to time, in the absence of the teacher.
The Part-Time Driver is a part-time staff member of Positive Tomorrows, responsible for safely delivering children to and from the school in Positive Tomorrows transportation. Vehicles to be driven include a school bus and vans. Work hours may vary but primarily begin at a specified time in the morning (approximately 7 am – 9 am) and again in the afternoon (approx.
3 pm – 6 pm), lasting until the daily route is completed. In addition to the regular school route, the driver may be asked to report for other Positive Tomorrows activities.
