Modern Languages Student Assistant and Peer Tutor
Assist faculty in the Modern Language Program with a variety of tasks (i.e. handouts, presentations, photocopies, assisting students in Spanish and French primarily) to speak with proper pronunciation, etc.

Minimum Education /
Experience:
Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours during the Fall or Spring Semesters or 3 credit hours in the Summer Semester OR Current OCCC student with a federal work study award.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Fulfill one of the following criteria:
1) Have earned a B or better in a minimum of the first three Spanish courses (SPAN
1115/1225/2113).
2) Have lived abroad in a Spanish-speaking country and studied the basic grammar and vocabulary.
3) Ability to demonstrate a high level of competence as a Spanish Heritage speaker.
Job Duties:
Make copies for instructors. Assist Spanish instructors with student language practice in assigned classes. Create PowerPoint presentations or assist in the creation of handouts on a variety of language topics. Help students with special activities such as the Fiestas Patrias float creation, Día de los Muertos cultural poster presentations, and final oral presentations in spring semester by providing peer support. Demonstrate a general knowledge of basic Spanish grammar concepts and vocabulary.
Complete other Modern Language-related tasks as needed.
