Student Computer Center Student Tutor

The Student Computer Center (SCC) Student tutor is responsible for providing tutorial assistance to students in the computer laboratory setting, in the discipline(s) listed under job duties. Reports To
- Student Computer Center Supervisor

What position(s) reports to this position? - None

Minimum Education /Experience
- Must be a current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours for the Summer semester. OR Must be a current OCCC student with a federal work study award. AND Must be qualified to tutor in designated tutor subject area by receiving recommendation from a laboratory supervisor or faculty confirming qualification.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must demonstrate positive communication and human relations skills while performing work. Ability to work a flexible schedule Good organizational skills Student oriented and able to tutor

Job Duties (Position Specific) - Tutor one or more particular subject(s) ( i.e Windows 7, 8.0, 10 Microsoft Office, Autodesk Autocad, Solidworks, Beginning Programming, Advanced Programming, Web Site Development, Cyber Security) Implement a tutoring system and be able to receive directions from lab supervisor, lab assistants and/or Instructor.

Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures) - Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures. Contribute to a safe educational & working environment. Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others. Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices.

Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
