Student Business Center - Student Tutor
The Student Business Center Student Tutor is responsible for tutoring students in a variety of business courses as well as providing general assistance to students visiting the Center.
Reports To:
Student Business Center Supervisor
Minimum Education /
Experience:
Successful completion of 3 credit hours of economics or accounting. AND Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester OR Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge and ability to assist students in economics, accounting, and business related activities. Strong oral and written communication skills. Desire to aid students learning in economics and business subjects. Strong basic math skills. Ability to work with a diverse student population effectively. Basic Computer/Internet skills.

This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, faculty, staff, and others to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently move about the Accounting/Business Lab to assist students and perform the essential functions of the position. This position requires the person to occasionally position self to work on lab equipment, to assist customers, and to perform the essential functions of the position. This position requires the person to operate a computer and other accounting lab/office machinery to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists. This position performs the essential functions in an indoor lab, classroom, and/or office setting.
