Student Computer Center TAP Tutor
The Student Computer Center (SCC) TAP tutor is responsible for providing tutorial assistance to students in the computer laboratory setting, in the discipline(s) listed under job duties. The work is light work which requires the person in this position to occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
This position requires the ability to lift and carry computer and peripheral equipment. Work is performed in a relatively safe, secure, stable, and indoor office, classroom, and lab work environment. Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Work is performed during afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays.
The individual must possess these skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Job duties include implementing a tutoring system and being able to receive directions from the lab supervisor. Tutor one or more particular subject(s) (i.e Vista, XP, Microsoft Office, Autodesk Autocad or 3DS Max, Beginning Programming, Advanced Programming, Web Site Development, Multimedia). Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures. Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others. Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices. Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
