Position Summary
Assist and support the principal in developing, supervising, evaluating, and managing school programs and personnel to promote each student's educational development in a safe learning environment. Coordinate with the principal to assist in creating, defining, and enforcing school policies and guidelines. Administer programs in accordance with board policies, district goals, and consistent with the collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited four‑year college or university.
- Elementary administrator certification recognized by the State of Oklahoma.
- Previous administrative experience preferred, but not required.
- At least three years’ experience in education.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serves as principal in the absence of the Head Principal, as assigned by the Director of Elementary Instruction.Assists in establishing and maintaining a safe and orderly climate by supervising and monitoring students during the school day and during assigned activities beyond the school day; shares with the principal the responsibility for protecting the health and welfare of students; and assists in safety inspections and safety drill activities.Resolves discipline problems according to district policies, in a fair and just manner, and maintains records of any disciplinary action taken.Collects and monitors data; prepares and presents reports on academic achievement, attendance, tardiness, goals, and individual student behavior for team analysis; leads discussions and counsels students, parents, and staff to increase student success.Coaches, supervises, evaluates, and monitors teachers in effective pedagogy in the Mid-Del Instructional Model and provides actionable feedback for teachers to promote professional growth.Manages human, physical, material, and fiscal resources for promoting student achievement: evaluations, assigning special duties, professional development, monitoring attendance, and granting leave for staff; coordinates transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services; maintains a master calendar of all school activities; coordinates extra-curricular activities; prioritizes resources that will improve teaching and learning.Assists the principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff.Informs supervisor of scheduled events and activities, both typical and atypical: extended leave taken by site personnel, and routine matters related to the accountability of all aspects of the school.Assists in establishing a culture of respect, high achievement, and collaboration by consistently demonstrating high moral, ethical, and professional standards of performance and personal integrity; follows district rules, policies, and procedures; participates in district professional development related to growth in school leadership knowledge and skill; maintains good relationships with students, staff, and parents; and complies with established lines of authority.Additional duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or above.Language and Grammar Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form.
