Job DescriptionThe teacher will be expected to establish and foster a positive classroom environment where students are given the opportunity to develop academically and socially. The teacher will also maintain compliance with district policies and initiatives as supervised by the site administrator. Positive and professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and all stakeholders are expected.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university
- Teaching certification recognized by the State of Oklahoma
- Previous experience with children or in a classroom setting is preferred
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Maintain all records and a comprehensive computer database necessary to complete the annual child counts and other state and federal reports required by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Teaches academic content as designated to pupils in a classroom, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education, and activities aligned to current state standards.
- Adhere to district and school policies as set forth by district/site handbooks.
- Provide a learning environment that allows all students to feel safe and successful.
- Instruct pupils in basic subject matter specified in state law and regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
- Monitor and evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth toward goals, make adjustments as needed, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil's progress and interpret the school program.
- Identify pupil needs and collaborate with other professional staff members in assessing and providing interventions/resources for pupils’ health, social‑emotional, and academic needs.
- Enhance professional pedagogy through in‑service education provided by the district and self‑selected professional growth opportunities. In addition to this, set goals for professional growth and seek guidance.
- Carry out additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above.
