Position: Kindergarten Teacher, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

About Alpha

Alpha reimagines the school day around faster learning, stronger mentorship, and more time for students to build real‑world skills.

The position is a full‑time (40 hours per week) on‑site role at an Alpha campus in Phoenix, AZ;
Oklahoma City, OK;
Tulsa, OK;
Nashville, TN;
Austin, TX;
Fort Worth, TX;
Houston, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT. The salary is $100,000 per year with weekly pay, and comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits begin day one. Relocation assistance is available if needed.

This role is not a teaching position. Your focus is on motivating students and driving mastery through life‑skills coaching rather than delivering direct academic instruction.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitating one‑hour life‑skills workshops for groups of 10–15 K‑3 students covering public speaking, concentration, feedback exchange, and other transferable competencies.
  • Conducting daily individual and small‑group coaching sessions that maintain student progress toward weekly app targets, leveraging Coachbot analytics and Alpha’s reward structures.
  • Delivering the Test2

    Pass competency evaluation for each life skill and supporting students who fall short until they achieve mastery.
  • Engaging kindergarteners at their developmental level through songs, narratives, physical activity, and humor while holding second‑ and third‑graders accountable to concrete, quantifiable expectations.
  • Serving as the caring adult students are excited to see on morning arrival and the adult who will not permit them to settle for less than their best.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Delivering content from the front of the room; academic instruction resides in the applications, not in your direct teaching.
  • Developing curriculum independently;
    Alpha supplies the operational framework and you execute it.
  • Passively monitoring students at workstations; motivational work here is dynamic, personalized, and continuous.
  • Adjusting a weekly target downward so a child can achieve it; the solution involves supporting the student, not revising the goal.
  • Evaluating homework, conducting standardized test preparation, or handling parent outreach;
    Campus Leads manage family communication, and the other tasks are not part of this model.
Key Responsibilities

Guarantee that every student in your K‑3 cohort achieves their weekly learning objectives, demonstrates mastery of each life skill, and concludes the year reporting that they loved you.

Basic Requirements
  • Willing to work on‑site at an Alpha campus in one of the listed locations (relocation support provided).
  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject.
  • At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4 to 9 (early‑elementary teaching, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program leadership).
  • Provide a specific example describing how you motivated a young child to achieve a hard goal, detailing the goal, your actions, and the outcome.
  • Able to attend a paid training program at our Austin, TX campus.
  • Willingness to let AI handle instructional content while you focus on motivation and life‑skills coaching.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
Nice‑to‑have Requirements
  • Background in youth athletics coaching, children’s theater, camp leadership, Montessori/progressive early education, or after‑school programs where you held direct responsibility for motivating young children toward defined objectives.
  • Personal record of high achievement (academic, athletic, or professional), demonstrating consistent performance against demanding standards.
  • Natural performer’s energy with young children—the capacity to command a room of kindergarteners through vocal delivery, playfulness, and physical engagement.
  • Demonstrated success transforming hesitant or reluctant young children into engaged, confident contributors.
Working with Us

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The role requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. Compensation is $50 USD per hour, which equates to $100,000 USD per year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. Payment is made weekly.
