Coordinator of College and Career Advising
Salary Grade: Educational Grade 03/ EG-03
Position SummaryThe Coordinator of College and Career Advising leads and coordinates district wide college, career, and postsecondary readiness initiatives that support students in developing and pursuing individualized plans for life after high school. The Coordinator provides leadership, coaching, and strategic direction for College and Career Advisors and collaborates with school counselors, school leaders, district departments, postsecondary institutions, employers, and community partners. The position oversees implementation of district wide advising systems, including Individual Career and Academic Planning (ICAP), postsecondary planning, financial aid initiatives, work-based learning, and career exploration;
develops annual priorities; monitors implementation and outcomes; and uses student outcome and program data to inform strategy and advance the district's postsecondary readiness goals.
- Leads implementation and continuous improvement of district wide college and career advising programs
- Provides leadership, coaching, training, and implementation oversight for College and Career Advisors
- Oversees district wide advising systems, including ICAP, postsecondary planning, financial aid, and work-based learning
- Develops annual priorities and monitors implementation and student outcomes
- Builds and maintains partnerships with postsecondary institutions, employers, and community partners
Education: Bachelor's degree in education or a related field required
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in effective K-12 classroom teaching, advising, or counseling
Licenses and
Certifications:
- Current Oklahoma teaching certification required
- Valid Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Deep knowledge of college and career-ready requirements, including graduation requirements, college admissions criteria, and workforce needs
- Knowledge of Oklahoma ICAP requirements and postsecondary readiness indicators
- Knowledge of work-based learning and career pathways
- Ability to work with external partners to advance district workforce and community-readiness goals
- Exceptional written communication skills and the ability to design and publish user-friendly resources and tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Effective time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple demands and competing deadlines with flexibility
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth in the role
