Company Description Guthrie Job Corps Center is part of the national Job Corps program, which operates more than 120 campuses across the United States to provide free career training and education for eligible low-income young adults ages 16 to 24. Students gain practical experience to start a career, enter an apprenticeship, pursue college, or enlist in the military. The program emphasizes supportive services, structured learning, and hands-on training to help students succeed in the workforce.

Role Description The Career Transition Services Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Guthrie Job Corps Center in Oklahoma City, OK. This role oversees the planning and delivery of services that help students transition from training into employment, apprenticeships, higher education, or military service. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising career transition staff, coordinating employer outreach, and ensuring students receive individualized career counseling, interview preparation, and job search assistance.

The manager tracks placement outcomes, maintains compliance with Job Corps policies, and collaborates with center leadership to improve transition services and community partnerships. This position requires regular interaction with students, staff, and external stakeholders to support positive post-graduation outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in Career Development and Career Counseling to guide students in setting and achieving post-training goals.
  • Experience providing Interview Preparation and related job-readiness support to help students present themselves effectively to employers.
  • Strong Communication skills to work with diverse student populations, staff teams, and community partners.
  • Ability to design and deliver Training related to job search strategies, workplace expectations, and career pathways.
  • Prior experience in workforce development, education, counseling, or social services is highly beneficial.
  • Leadership and team management experience, including supervising staff and coordinating multiple programs or projects.
  • Proficiency with common office software and data tracking systems to monitor student outcomes and program performance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, human services, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
