Position OverviewThe MS Math Teacher at Santa Fe South Middle School plays a critical role in ensuring students develop the mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills necessary for success in high school and beyond. This teacher will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned math instruction rooted in the SFS math framework, while contributing to a collaborative team that is building strong systems, shared expectations, and a joyful, achievement-oriented school culture.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality, grade-level math instruction aligned to Oklahoma Academic Standards and the SFS math framework.
- Plan and execute engaging, bell-to-bell lessons that prioritize student discourse, conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and real-world problem solving.
- Use student data (including formative assessments and NWEA MAP Growth) to inform instruction, monitor progress, and adjust teaching to meet student needs.
- Implement consistent classroom routines, procedures, and expectations that support a safe, structured, and joyful learning environment.
- Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to strengthen curriculum implementation, pacing, and instructional practices.
- Engage fully in coaching cycles, lesson planning, and professional learning aligned to Santa Fe South's commitment to continuous growth.
- Build strong relationships with students and families, including participation in student data conversations and community engagement efforts.
- Contribute positively to the development of SFS MS's culture, traditions, and systems as a growing campus.
- A mission-driven educator who believes all students can achieve at high levels with the right instruction and support.
- Strong content knowledge in middle school mathematics and a commitment to teaching rigorous, grade-level material.
- Willingness to grow, reflect, and continuously improve through feedback, coaching, and collaboration.
- Ability to motivate, connect with, and advocate for middle school students and their families.
- Comfort working in a developing school environment where flexibility, initiative, and a builder's mindset are essential.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Oklahoma teaching certification (or eligibility/willingness to obtain certification)
Preferred:
- Experience teaching middle school math
- Experience using student data to drive instructional decisions
- Familiarity with standards-aligned math curricula and problem-based instructional practices
