HVAC Adjunct Instructor

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced HVAC Adjunct Instructor to teach HVAC training courses. Essential Job Functions:

  • Instructs students in practical HVAC techniques.
  • Provides hands-on training and demonstrations.
  • Assesses student progress and provides constructive feedback.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Hands-on experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or workforce development experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and instructional skills.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of residential and commercial equipment.
  • Familiarity with HVAC-related safety standards, OSHA regulations, EPA Section 608 requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, testing instruments, and diagnostic procedures in a lab environment.
  • Be a registered CIB Mechanical Journeyman.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent walking, standing, and/or sitting and stooping.
  • The environment will be a classroom and/or shop environment.
  • Ability to lift 10-25 lbs.
  • Concentrated visual effort is required.
  • Extensive communication with internal and external customers.

Organizational Relationship:

Adjunct instructor reports to the Director of Workforce and Economic Development. Not full-time permanent employment. Instructs in approved classes as needed.

Schedule:

Varies depending on approved course offerings. Classes will be in the evening, 6-9 PM, 2 nights a week.
