JOB REQUIREMENTSOperations (Bus & Streetcar)
Train and/or retrain Bus and Streetcar Operators in all facets of transit operations to achieve full performance standards.
Deliver training for new operator trainees that leads to successful commercial licensing and certification to operate EMBARK vehicles/routes.
Provide post-accident training for Operations staff per established procedures and timelines.
Support CDL licensing processes for all positions that require it, coordinating scheduling, practice, and testing logistics.
Assist in the implementation of System Safety Plans and act as backup to accident review and authority safety committees
Training Program Design & Delivery
Conduct training needs assessments; design and develop curricula for supervisory and non‑supervisory staff; align programs with organizational goals.
Facilitate in‑person, virtual, and eLearning sessions applying adult learning principles and instructional design techniques for diverse audiences.
Coordinate and deliver required annual employee training (technical, safety, soft skills) across EMBARK divisions.
Work in conjunction with multiple departments to implement and improve corporate training programs.
Quality Control & Evaluation
Evaluate the effectiveness of course curricula using pre/post assessments, participant feedback, and performance outcomes; recommend continuous improvements.
Establish clear standards, measurable targets, and documentation for each training program.
Recordkeeping & Reporting
Enter courses, classes, attendance, and completions in HRIS and LMS; maintain accurate, retrievable training records; generate required reports.
Track training metrics and provide timely, accurate reporting to leadership.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure training programs support compliance with DOT, CDL, and EMBARK safety policies; contribute to safety investigations and corrective action training.
Systems Administration (LMS)
Serve as backup LMS administrator: manage content, scheduling, enrollments, user records, and reporting; coordinate system enhancements with HR/IT.
Interdepartmental Coordination
Collaborate with City departments and external agencies to coordinate training initiatives, provide technical assistance, and support employee development organization‑wide.
Fulfill departmental training requests within established service levels.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Coordinate with vendors and customers for training-related meetings, events, and specialized certifications; manage logistics, materials, and schedules.
Continuous Improvement
Research best practices and update or create training modules to meet evolving operational needs and service quality standards.
CDL or Streetcar Certification:100% of all required operator trainees attaining within policy timelines.
Training completion rate:100% for required new hire and recertification courses.
Training records and documentation:≥ 98% accuracy rate.
Training and records reports submitted on time:100%
License: Valid Oklahoma Class B CDL with Passenger (P) endorsement
.Streetcar Operator certification
Minimum three (3) years previous transit operation experience, and two (2) years in a supervisory role.
Skill in applying and assessing effective instructional techniques, adult learning principles, and instructional design.
Strong verbal and written communication; ability to relate training information to diverse audiences; tact and diplomacy.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience facilitating in‑person and virtual training sessions; experience with LMS/HRIS systems preferred.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Adult Learning, Public Administration, Education, or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
- Subject to sitting, standing, walking, and using a telephone or two‑way radio for extended periods.
