Student Computer Center Tutor - FWS

The Student Computer Center (SCC) Federal Work Study tutor is responsible for providing tutorial assistance to students in SCC computer laboratory setting, in the provided discipline(s).

Reports To:

The SCC Supervisor and SCC Evening Supervisor

Minimum Education /

Experience:

Current OCCC student with Federal Work Study Program award Qualified to tutor in designated tutor subject area and must receive recommendation from a laboratory supervisor or professor indicating that tutor is qualified.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work a flexible schedule Good organizational skills Positive interpersonal skills Student oriented and able to tutor Effective verbal communication

Physical Demands/

Working Conditions:

The work is light work which requires the person in this position to occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
This position requires the ability to lift and carry computer and peripheral equipment. Work is performed in a relatively safe, secure, stable, and indoor office, classroom, and lab work environment. Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Work is performed during afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completed courses in tutor subject area

Work Hours:

Flexible allowed hours when needed, falling between the hours of 9am to 9pm Monday
- Thursday, 8am – 5pm Friday, and 9am
-3pm Saturday.
