Adjunct Professor of Computer-Aided Technology - Automation/Robotics

An adjunct faculty member at Oklahoma City Community College has the primary responsibility of instruction. Secondary responsibilities include supporting the integrity of curricula, encouraging student success, and promoting the mission of the division to which the adjunct faculty member belongs as well as the College as a whole.

The position reports to the Department Chair of Computer-Aided Technology and has no subordinate positions. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in automation, robotics, or a related field with 3+ years of experience directly dealing with automation and robotic processes and techniques is required. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include experience in the field of automation and robotics, strong knowledge of robotic and automation systems, programming languages, positive human relations and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team member.

The position requires light work, frequent communication, and the ability to operate a computer and other office/classroom equipment. The position performs essential functions in an indoor, classroom or office setting.

The position may teach courses such as Automation Fundamentals, Robotics, PLC, VFD, AC/DC Electrical, and other related courses. The adjunct faculty member is expected to manage program and course curricula, contribute to developing, implementing, and evaluating approved academic programs, fulfill course, program, and department goals and objectives, participate in the assessment of student learning outcomes, respond to information requests, attend meetings, acquire new knowledge and skills, maintain license or professional certification, satisfy objectives for special assignments, and support the College's vision, mission, goals, and priorities.

The position abides by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures, contributes to a safe educational & working environment, adheres to established safety and health procedures and practices, completes quarterly health and safety training, participates in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and is prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
